Dolphins in the Port River and More

 

There are about 30 resident dolphins living in the estuary  of the Port River and either side there are two other dolphin groups, one to the north and one to the south.  Each group specialises in a different habitat type: sheltered estuary, sandy beaches and muddy mangrove flats.  All three groups socialise together in the outer parts of the estuary.
